Lose Weight by Eating More!

It's sounds a little crazy I know! That is because we have been brainwashed by these programs that "starve" the body to achieve "rapid weight loss". We are constantly slapped in the face as consumers with the marketing tactics of "low fat", "low calorie", "fat free", etc. And now these companies have even taken it to a new level by advertising the number of calories in LARGE BOLD print on food product labels. It's like they are having a contest of who can print the lowest numbers on their products. Thus, sending us the message that the less calories we take in for each meal the better it is for us. We actually begin to believe that a meal replacement shake with under 200 calories is the best meal we could ever eat. So why not just eat that 3 times per day and live off of less than 600 calories per day? Because this is NOT healthy, safe, or even practical to achieving long term results. To completely grasp why this is not the answer to your weight loss solutions, you need to see the BIGGER picture.

FIRST LET'S TALK ABOUT THE SCIENCE INVOLVED!

It is imperative that you understand that REGARDLESS of all of the gimmicks, fads, trends, and supplements on the market... and YES even "the success" that some people may have had with them.... You CAN NOT deny or argue with the SCIENCE of the body's metabolism (the chemical processes that occur within a living organism in order to maintain life), nor can you dispute how our bodes work and have ALWAYS worked to burn fat; thus what has ALWAYS been the KEY to burning fat and losing weight! And it all starts with ENERGY! Energy exists in many forms of "fuel" such heat, light, chemical energy, electrical energy, and this case food. Energy is the ability to bring about change or to do work. "Thermodynamics" is the study of energy and the the First Law of Thermodynamics states that, "energy is always conserved; it cannot be created or destroyed." In essence, energy can be converted from one form into another.

SECOND, LET'S TALK ABOUT CALORIES

A calories is the measure of ENERGY value in food used to fuel our bodies! When you have extra "energy" the body stores it as fat for later use. When you run out of "fresh energy" (your daily calories) your body burns its "stored energy" (fat) to keep RUNNING. So in a nutshell, if you want to "burn fat" you need to feed your body less "fresh energy" than it burns. We measure the difference between the two as calorie intake - burned calories = caloric deficit. A proper calorie deficit over time will burn fat and preserve muscle.

WHY SIMPLY CUTTING CALORIES ISN'T THE ANSWER

Notice the mention above of "over time"? That is because it takes 3500 calories of energy to burn 1 pound of fat! So the deficit is accumulative! Why is this statement so important? Because if you tried to achieve this in one or two days, you not be taking in the proper amount of "fresh energy" that your body needs to stay alive. No, it will NOT just simply burn the 3500 calories worth of stored fat and magically burn a pound of fat overnight. Why? Because your body needs daily fuel, nourishment, vitamins, and minerals to perform all of its daily functions. Stored fat is simply leftover "energy" or "fuel" with very little value. It is like the stuff hot dogs are made up of. It's the extra junk that didn't get used to feed the body what it needs. So if you do not feed this "fuel" to your body, it will simply take what it needs from your own body if it has to.. in other words, your body will just simply eat itself. Some time this will appear as "weight loss", but in fact, you are damaging your organs and losing lean muscle. This is why some people look "saggy" when that have experienced rapid weight loss. Many people will also experience hair loss, dental decay, fatigue, dizziness, headaches, nausea, diarrhea, etc. These side effects are due to a significantly high caloric deficit in a short period of time. Which is why the PROPER way to "cut calories" is to spread the deficit out over a period of a week for a total deficit of 7,000 (2 pounds of HEALTHY fat loss per week).

IT'S TIME TO EAT!!!!

Now that you understand that significantly cutting your calories is not a safe solution to achieve weight loss, you need to determine how many calories per day that you should be eating. There are many mobile apps that will calculate this for you, or you can always have a fitness professional do it for you. You will be surprised the number of calories your body actually needs everyday to function properly. So the key is NOT to significantly cut your calories, but to reduce the number of "bad calories" and achieve your daily intake through QUALITY FOODS!
