Hurricane Maria Relief for PR
FlavaFitness Studio donated space to be a drop off location for donations to be shipped to the people of Puerto Rico. Our staff and members sorted, inspected, and boxed these donations prior to delivering them to the main warehouse. We are please to announce that through our members and the local community, we donated 5 pallets worth of food and other supplies. Through donations, Flava staff and members created over 500 Blessing Bags to be given to the people of Puerto Rico and evacuees. Members volunteered at the main warehouse where they inspected, sorted and boxed up donations onto pallets to be shipped to Puerto Rico. Our group completed one entire of pallet of canned goods alone. FlavaFitness Studio hosted a special event Zumba Class and Car Wash and raised over $500 to send much needed Medical supplies and personnel to Puerto Rico as well as to fund the gasoline to ship donated food and other supplies.
Hooked On Hope
Booty Jam Fitness® event has over raised $1,100 for Hooked on Hope.
Hurricane Irma Relief for Tampa
FlavaFitness Studio hosted a FREE Spaghetti Dinner to it's members and the community to feed those impacted by Hurricane Irma who were without power and unable to cook a hot meal in their own homes. Our owners Jeni J and Yasmill personally donated and cooked the food for this event to feed over 100 people.
Our annual FlavAthon was designed to bring awareness to Domestic Violence and raise funds to support those in abusive situations. A FlavAthon can last from 24 - 72 hours and consists of multiple back to back classes with a variety of formats. Participants can collect pledges and flat donations for their commitments to "Dance for a Cause" where each hour of their participation is their own personal sacrifice to bring awareness to Domestic Violence.
BOOTY FOR BOOBIES
Our annual Booty Jam Fitness® class dedicated to the awareness of Breast Cancer and a fundraiser to support the fight! In October 2017, FlavaFitness declared Hooked on Hope as the official beneficiary of this annual event. Hooked on Hope is a local Breast Cancer support organiztion. BLESSING BAG PROJECT
Inspired by our Hurricane Relief efforts for Puerto Rico, our Blessing Bags can be used as relief for a variety of purposes. Each bag consists of bare necessities for one person (soap, shampoo, conditioner, toothbrush, toothpaste, deoderant, hand sanitizer, razors, lotion, etc.) and are customized for Men, Women, Infant, Child, and Family. These bags can be given to people who need immediate assistance during disasters like fires, floods, and storms. They are also useful for evacuees from these disasters, women escaping Domestic Violence situations, and the homeless.
CHARITY CLASSES & SOCIALS
Special Event/Master Classes or Dance Socials can be held to support any cause. We have a variety of formats to choose from and the proceeds from these events can fund your cause.
STAND UP! FOR DV AWARENESS
We have created our very own program Stand Up! (Stop the Abuse N' Dance for Domestic Violence Awareness) to help educate the community of this important issue, provide support for those in need and celebrate those who have fought back. Moving forward, Stand Up! will also fund dance/fitness classes for women's shelters and scholarships for the children impacted by this abuse.
